The Distress Lab  presented a poster entitled “Links between interpersonal neural synchrony and parent-child behaviors during naturalistic interactions: a systematic review,” as part of her thesis work, which aims to better understand the role of inter-brain synchrony in the transmission of anxious behaviors and stress resilience in families.

ECDP

The 2025 European Conference on Developmental Psychology (ECDP) 2025 was held in Vilnius from 25th to 29th of August 2025.

The Distress Lab organised a symposium entitled: “Biobehavioral dynamics of family interactions: socioemotional development in children taking into account synchrony, attachment and family resilience.”

2024

BAPS

The 2024 Annual Meeting of the Belgian Association for Psychological Sciences (BAPS) was held in Brussels. The centra theme was: Dealing with Transformative Change: Societal Challenges for Psychological Science.

The Distress Lab organised a symposium entitled: “Resilience & Family Dynamics: Triadic Synchrony and Parental Support in the Face of Stress: An Excellence of Science (EOS-FWO/FNRS) Symposium”. Moreover, two oral presentations took place: “Stress resilience in university students: evaluation of coping strategies, empathy, attachment, and gratitude” and “Visual-spatial reasoning performance under social observation and collaboration: a tangram-based task”.

Emotions

The Emotions 2023 conference held in Tilburg University showcased empirical and theoretical research in the field of emotions.

The Distress Lab organised a symposium on the observation of emotional experiences between parents and children with different ages. A poster was also presented consisting of a systematic review on synchrony within a family context.

WAIMH

The 2023 World Association for Infant Mental Health conference was held in Dublin. This conference focused on Early Relationships Matter: Advancing Practice, Policy and Research in Infant Mental Health. 

The Distress Lab proudly participated in that conference with a poster on parent’s neuroticsm & postpartum depression: the mediating role of interpretation bias.

BACI

The 2023 Basic and Clinical Multimodel Imaging conference was held in Istanbul in Turkey. The main focus of this conference was the meeting point of the neuroelectrophysiology and genetics.

The Distress Lab proudly participated in that conference with a poster as well as a flash-talk.

BAPS

The 2023 annual meeting of the Belgian Association for Psychological Sciences (BAPS) took place at the University of Mons in Belgium. The special focus of this year’s conference was: clinical challenges and theoretical models: new dialectical relationships.
